Fun in the Sand!

We got back from the beach yesterday. It was a long drive especially with Lilly being so young. But we made it! We had so much fun and there were many times when we had to drag Wyatt inside. We stayed at a condo in Orange Beach with my mom, dad, and sister. The girls went shopping one day and Thomas and I got to go out on a date while we were there.
This is a picture of our little fish! He is doing really well with his swimming. And he loves it!
Lilly did not enjoy the water that much. But it was rather cold!
While we were there we actually got together with my dad's side of the family. We have not all been together in many years and it was so much fun! It was great to see everyone! This is all the cousins, spouses, great-grandchildren and Grandmother. The youngest great-grandchild was 1 month old!
This is all the cousins, great-grandchildren, and grandmother.
This is a picture of Lilly and Mary Grayson playing. Mary Grayson is 5 weeks older than Lilly. She was not real thrilled with Lilly.
I can't say I blame her. It looks like Lilly was trying to choke her! Ha!
A picture of my little beach bum. She was not really a beach bum. I think we were on the beach a total of maybe an hour. She just didn't like the sand! Maybe when she's older she'll like it better.
Now this is one happy boy!
He enjoyed building sand castles.

Children's Museum

This past week my mom came up and we took the kids to the Mississippi Children's Museum. It was a very rainy day so this was the perfect activity! This was the first time we have been and we absolutely loved it! Wyatt had a blast! We had to pretty much drag him out! We will be returning many more times. This first picture is from the fishing area. He loves going fishing with daddy so this was great for him.

This picture is of him filling up a car with "gas". This car was really cool. The kids could get in and drive. They could also pump the front of the car up and change the tire.
This is Wyatt milking the cow with my mom!
Lilly had a good time too!
This is a picture of our project we have been working on lately. We planted a small garden in our backyard. We had some squash and zucchini for dinner the other night! We didn't think we would like it as much as we have. We actually wish we had planted a bigger one! My grandaddy would have been so proud! We have planted several tomato plants, squash, zucchini, bell peppers, eggplant, basil, rosemary, oregano, and thyme.
We will be leaving on Friday to go to the beach. We can't wait! So the next time I update will be after we get back from the beach!

Happy 5 months!

Well, school is finally out and now I have time to write! I'm so glad it's summer and that I will get more time with Wyatt and Lilly and have time to get my house how I want it. During school there never seems to be enough time in the day to keep my house up! Hopefully, I will get a little me time also! I'm going to keep sending Wyatt to school 2 days a week. He really loves it and it's a great compromise. Lilly will be at home with me all summer unless I need a break in which case I will drop her in day care for the day.
I didn't get a chance to talk about Memorial Day, so let's lead off with that. We didn't do much. We just hung out as a family, however I did get a few pictures. My mom actually made Lilly's dress. She was in it long enough for pictures because she is teething really bad and soaked through it!
My big girl turned 5 months old today! She is growing up so fast! She actually had her bottom two teeth cut through yesterday. She was a little later than Wyatt cutting teeth. But he was really early. He got his first tooth when he turned 4 months. Lilly at 5 months is just a precious little girl. She is smiling all the time. (even through all this teething pain) She loves for you to talk to her and she just lights up when you hold a conversation with her. When you tickle her she just starts giggling and can't stop sometimes! We are doing solids now. She's not real thrilled with it yet. She's OK with the cereal. We tried green beans yesterday and she does pretty good with that. I'm actually trying to make her baby food. I didn't do this with Wyatt but I wanted to try with her. I made the green beans and I also made butternut squash for her to try next. She is sitting well with assistance. I think she will probably crawl before sitting up. She is already starting to try to scoot around. This afternoon I caught her on her knees and elbows rocking back and forth. It would make sense for her to crawl first with Wyatt around! Ha Ha!
Lillian Claire you are beautiful little girl and bring so much joy to us! Even your crazy brother, who loves you so much! Wyatt loves to give you kisses and tell us that you are his sister. He tells you good morning every morning and night night every night. I can tell you will become quite the pair! We love you doodle bug, happy 5 months!
Jammy time!

4 months!

Well, this is a couple weeks late, but it's the end of school and we've been busy. Anyway, Miss Lillian Claire turned 4 months old on the May 5th. I can't believe she is already 4 months! W e went to the doctor for her check up last week and Doctor Edwards was very impressed with our girl! She is 16 pounds 2 ounces! She has doubled her birth weight. She is also 25 1/2 inches long. Her head circumference is 16 3/4 inches. That puts her in the 90th percentile for all three! She is a big girl! Dr. Edwards also gave us the go ahead to start solids. We started this past weekend with a little rice cereal. She is still a little confused by it but she is getting better at it. She ran fever on Saturday from her shots, but it was low grade. At four months Lilly can roll over, in fact, she is very mobile when rolling! She is holding her head up very well. I don't think it will be long before she is sitting on her own. She is also teething up a storm! Her hands are constantly at her mouth and she is drooling a lot. Sometimes she gets fussy about it but mostly she is very happy. Her greatest source of entertainment these days is Wyatt. The tv runs a close second. Whenever the tv is on she will sit there and stare at it for quite a while.

You can see how wet her neck stays from the drooling!

Mr. Wyatt had a little accident last week sometime. We are not sure when it happened though. On Friday night I was giving him a bath and I noticed that he had a big black spot on the bottom of his toe. It was also red all around it. So Saturday I took him to a clinic and it turns out that he stepped on something and it then got infected. The doctor drained it and put him on antibiotics. It seems to be healing well. He wanted me to take a picture of his toe:)

Now for a little bragging on my boy. I was reading a book to him at bed time the other night and he started saying the words with me. Apparently, he is memorizing the books we read to him. He knew the first half of The Cat in the Hat. And he knows the words to a tractor book that he has. We've got one smart cookie on our hands!

I am almost finished with school. The last day for students is May 27 and our last day is June 2. I can't wait to have this summer off and stay at home with my babies!

Good times!

The weekend of April 17 we went to Kidfest in Ridgeland. Kidfest is a small fair for kids and we thought Wyatt would have fun. And boy did he! He had a blast, I'm sure we will try to go again next year. We tried to sit and watch the circus act but Wyatt wanted to get back outside to ride the rides again!

This first picture says it all!

I think he rode this ride about 5 times!

The merry go round was fun too!

It was not very exciting for Lillian but she did so well that day!

This is Wyatt in the firetruck. He spotted it right off!

He did surprisingly well riding the ponies! He did it all by himself!

They even had big tractors the kids could climb in!

This was Wyatt's favorite part. We had to drag him away after about the tenth time riding it!

The next weekend was Easter. And boy did the Easter bunny come! My parents came up and went to church with us. The kids had a lot of fun! Unfortunately, we did not get any pictures of the kids dressed up in their Easter outfits, we were running late to church! And Wyatt was covered in chocolate when we got back because his teachers gave him candy at church!

Lillian's Easter basket.

This week Wyatt is moving up to a new room in school. I am excited to see how he does because this is no longer a toddler room. He is such a funny little boy and so smart! Thomas and I are very lucky! He can sing his ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, The Moon Song, and several others. He can count items up to twelve. He can also sing the Hail State with a little help from me! Lilly will be 4 months old this week! I can't believe she is growing so fast! She is starting to get teeth so she is a little cranky right now. She is rolling everywhere and holding her head up very well. I guess we will be starting solids in a few weeks.

Lilly is 3 Months Old!

As the title implies, Lilly is three months old today. I can't believe she is growing so fast! We've had a rough week this week. About last Wednesday she got a stomach bug. She still has it as of today. Hopefully it will leave soon! She is such a sweet baby. Even though she doesn't feel well most of the time she doesn't show it. She is very smiley and has started to laugh and giggle. She is still working on turning over from back to front. She almost has it. In fact she has started to sleep on her side. She is still sleeping through the night and has been since about 6 weeks. There have been a few times she woke up during the night with this stomach bug. She loves to play on her gym mat and look at the toys. She is also doing well at daycare. Wyatt is such a great big brother. He loves to hold her and he will love and kiss on her. I caught him yesterday singing to her! He loves to say good morning and good night to her. This sounds weird but it so cute when he does it: his nickname for her is Lilly Monster. On Sunday, we all drove down to Hattiesburg to surprise my Grandmother for her 85th birthday. It was really great to see everyone! I wish I had brought my camera but I forgot it at home. The pictures below are from today for Lilly's 3 month birthday. And yes Wyatt has bug bites all over him because he went fishing Saturday with his daddy and Pawpaw. Right before we took the pictures he also fell on the deck and he has a big scratch on his chin. This first picture is my favorite.
Swinging like a big boy!
I thought I would put in a picture of our furry member of the family. Wyatt and Harper have the best time chasing each other around the yard!
She has some major cheeks!
Cheesy grin!

Daddy and his little girl swinging.

She also loves playing with her hands.

Getting back

Well Lillian is 10 weeks old now! I can't believe it is going so fast! She is getting so big. On March the 7th we went to the doctor for her 2 month check up. She weighed 12 pounds 11 ounces, she was 23 inches in length, and her head circumference was 15 1/2 inches! She is my little chunky monkey! Since her 2 week appointment she gained about 4 pounds and 2 inches! The doctor said that she is doing great! He was especially impressed that she is sleeping such long stretches at night. She did have to get a couple of shots so that was not fun for either of us!

I went back to work the next day. It turned out to be a good time to go back because I worked 4 days and am on spring break now! Also it was nine weeks tests, so I didn't have to jump in right away. Lillian did great at daycare. The ladies that are in her room kept saying how sweet she was. Two of the ladies have taken care of Wyatt before, so I was comfortable leaving her. I say comfortable but I missed her terribly!

This has been a crazy week. Wyatt has had a cold for a couple of weeks now and Sunday Lillian had a stomach bug. And you guessed it I got the stomach bug Sunday night. So Monday, I was pretty miserable trying to take care of two kids. But such is the life of a mom! I called Elizabeth Monday morning so she could help me take the kids to the doctor as I was still feeling horrible. The doctor gave Wyatt some antibiotics and cough medicine and hopefully that will kick this cold. Basically they want the stomach bug to run its course with Lillian so there was nothing to do for her, just make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. However, as of Tuesday we were all feeling much better.

Also this week, since I have both kids at home I decided to really push the potty training with Wyatt. We have been doing pull ups since Lillian was born, but he just sees them as another diaper. So this week I totally switched him to underwear. He has done pretty well with this. He seems to be getting better at it each day.
