Good times!

The weekend of April 17 we went to Kidfest in Ridgeland. Kidfest is a small fair for kids and we thought Wyatt would have fun. And boy did he! He had a blast, I'm sure we will try to go again next year. We tried to sit and watch the circus act but Wyatt wanted to get back outside to ride the rides again!

This first picture says it all!

I think he rode this ride about 5 times!

The merry go round was fun too!

It was not very exciting for Lillian but she did so well that day!

This is Wyatt in the firetruck. He spotted it right off!

He did surprisingly well riding the ponies! He did it all by himself!

They even had big tractors the kids could climb in!

This was Wyatt's favorite part. We had to drag him away after about the tenth time riding it!

The next weekend was Easter. And boy did the Easter bunny come! My parents came up and went to church with us. The kids had a lot of fun! Unfortunately, we did not get any pictures of the kids dressed up in their Easter outfits, we were running late to church! And Wyatt was covered in chocolate when we got back because his teachers gave him candy at church!

Lillian's Easter basket.

This week Wyatt is moving up to a new room in school. I am excited to see how he does because this is no longer a toddler room. He is such a funny little boy and so smart! Thomas and I are very lucky! He can sing his ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, The Moon Song, and several others. He can count items up to twelve. He can also sing the Hail State with a little help from me! Lilly will be 4 months old this week! I can't believe she is growing so fast! She is starting to get teeth so she is a little cranky right now. She is rolling everywhere and holding her head up very well. I guess we will be starting solids in a few weeks.

Lilly is 3 Months Old!

As the title implies, Lilly is three months old today. I can't believe she is growing so fast! We've had a rough week this week. About last Wednesday she got a stomach bug. She still has it as of today. Hopefully it will leave soon! She is such a sweet baby. Even though she doesn't feel well most of the time she doesn't show it. She is very smiley and has started to laugh and giggle. She is still working on turning over from back to front. She almost has it. In fact she has started to sleep on her side. She is still sleeping through the night and has been since about 6 weeks. There have been a few times she woke up during the night with this stomach bug. She loves to play on her gym mat and look at the toys. She is also doing well at daycare. Wyatt is such a great big brother. He loves to hold her and he will love and kiss on her. I caught him yesterday singing to her! He loves to say good morning and good night to her. This sounds weird but it so cute when he does it: his nickname for her is Lilly Monster. On Sunday, we all drove down to Hattiesburg to surprise my Grandmother for her 85th birthday. It was really great to see everyone! I wish I had brought my camera but I forgot it at home. The pictures below are from today for Lilly's 3 month birthday. And yes Wyatt has bug bites all over him because he went fishing Saturday with his daddy and Pawpaw. Right before we took the pictures he also fell on the deck and he has a big scratch on his chin. This first picture is my favorite.
Swinging like a big boy!
I thought I would put in a picture of our furry member of the family. Wyatt and Harper have the best time chasing each other around the yard!
She has some major cheeks!
Cheesy grin!

Daddy and his little girl swinging.

She also loves playing with her hands.

Getting back

Well Lillian is 10 weeks old now! I can't believe it is going so fast! She is getting so big. On March the 7th we went to the doctor for her 2 month check up. She weighed 12 pounds 11 ounces, she was 23 inches in length, and her head circumference was 15 1/2 inches! She is my little chunky monkey! Since her 2 week appointment she gained about 4 pounds and 2 inches! The doctor said that she is doing great! He was especially impressed that she is sleeping such long stretches at night. She did have to get a couple of shots so that was not fun for either of us!

I went back to work the next day. It turned out to be a good time to go back because I worked 4 days and am on spring break now! Also it was nine weeks tests, so I didn't have to jump in right away. Lillian did great at daycare. The ladies that are in her room kept saying how sweet she was. Two of the ladies have taken care of Wyatt before, so I was comfortable leaving her. I say comfortable but I missed her terribly!

This has been a crazy week. Wyatt has had a cold for a couple of weeks now and Sunday Lillian had a stomach bug. And you guessed it I got the stomach bug Sunday night. So Monday, I was pretty miserable trying to take care of two kids. But such is the life of a mom! I called Elizabeth Monday morning so she could help me take the kids to the doctor as I was still feeling horrible. The doctor gave Wyatt some antibiotics and cough medicine and hopefully that will kick this cold. Basically they want the stomach bug to run its course with Lillian so there was nothing to do for her, just make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. However, as of Tuesday we were all feeling much better.

Also this week, since I have both kids at home I decided to really push the potty training with Wyatt. We have been doing pull ups since Lillian was born, but he just sees them as another diaper. So this week I totally switched him to underwear. He has done pretty well with this. He seems to be getting better at it each day.

7 weeks

This past Wednesday, Lilly turned 7 weeks old. I can't believe it is going so fast! I don't have much to update but thought I would write anyway and put some pictures up. Lilly is getting bigger and showing more of her personality each and everyday!

First, this was taken today before nap time. Wyatt is becoming such a great big brother! Up until this point he hasn't really concerned himself with Lilly too much. He wanted to hold her and just wanted to love on her! So sweet! And I just love the look on Lilly's face! By the way sorry for the quality of some of the pictures they were taken on my iPhone.

Brother and sister playing on the floor. Wyatt wanted to hug and kiss her. I promise he is not choking her!

Wyatt was describing the animals to Lilly and telling her what the colors were.

This was taken when we went for my six week check up. I love the big bow!

Lilly had her first smile last week. This is one of the few I caught on camera. She was laughing at her Nani.

Wyatt was having a movie night. I popped popcorn and he loved it! He thought he was something else!

We woke up Friday morning to this! What a way to start the day!

Luckily the only damage that was done was some scratches on the truck and it ripped off the side mirror. It could have been much worse!

This week will be my last full week of maternity leave:( I have really enjoyed staying home. But back to the "real" world. Lilly will have her two month shots on Monday (the 7th) and I go back on the 8th. Luckily the next week is spring break. So I only have to work 4 days and then get a week off!

6 weeks

Well Lilly is 6 weeks old now. I'm really enjoying my time with her and getting to know her little personality. I think she is starting to look more like Wyatt did. I'm dreading going back to work, because I will miss my days home with her. We are starting to settle into a routine. She has slept really well. (Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself!) She will sleep about 7-8 hours at night now. Which is great! I did babywise with Wyatt and am doing it with her as well, although I started a little bit later this time. We went back to have her hearing tested again and she passed this time so the fluid is clearing up. Thank goodness, that means we won't have to go to the ENT and get tubes right now. I had my 6 week check up yesterday and everything is great! Dr. McMinn just loved all over Lilly! This picture is from Valentines Day! I wish I had gotten a picture with her and Wyatt together but he's kind of hard to catch these days! I'll try to get a picture of him for my next post.

She's Here!

Well, as the title suggests, we have a new addition to our family. Lillian Claire Mott was born on January 5 at 10:08 a.m. She was 8 pounds 1 ounce and 20 1/2 inches long. We could not be happier. We went into the hospital on the 4th and I had a balloon catheter to help me dilate. That helped me dilate to about 5 cm the next morning at 5 a.m. They broke my water at 8 and had her at 10. It was really quick. I think that surprised us all. She is so beautiful! And a joyful addition to our family.

Her hair is a lot lighter than Wyatt's was when he was born.

One proud Daddy.

Sleepy girl.

Big Brother kisses. So sweet!

Lilly gave Wyatt a new Thomas the train set as a thank you for being a great big brother.

We had a big brother party for Wyatt when we got home from the hospital. This is the cake we had.

As you can see, Wyatt really enjoyed the cake!

This was the first time we let Wyatt try to hold Lilly and he did great! Isn't my family so cute!
Wyatt has had an adjustment period here since we had Lilly and we are taking it in stride. Understandably, he has had a major shift in his life. We are trying to keep everything as normal as possible for him and spending as much one on one time with him as we can. Which right now is mainly Daddy/Wyatt time.
A week after we had Lilly, we had some drama here. Thomas got very sick and had to go to the hospital, where they kept him over night. They think he had food poisoning. He is feeling much better now. Thankfully, Elizabeth came and took him to the hospital and my mom came up early and picked up Wyatt from school. Since I can't drive yet, I was very grateful for the both of them. Not only that the next day, Wyatt started potty training at daycare. I was slightly overwhelmed to say the least! But things have calmed down a little here thank goodness. Now, I'm just working on getting the kids on some kind of schedule.

Lilly's Room

I had a doctor's appointment today and there is not much to report. She said everything is looking good and she would like to wait a bit longer and let nature take it's course. If nothing has happened by January 5th we will induce that day.
Since I haven't put up any pictures of Lilly's room I thought I would post those. The first picture is a wall decal we put up above the changing table. If you ask Thomas, he will probably tell you that he hand painted it. Don't believe him. This Bible verse and her name above the crib are stick on wall decals.

Changing table. By the way my mom made the diaper stacker, curtains, pillow in the chair, dust ruffle, and memory board. She did such a great job! And she even got the top part of the diaper stacker monogrammed with her initials.
Rocking chair. As you can see our colors were mainly pink and green and yellow.

Curtains.

A friend at work painted the following two canvases. She is very talented and I was so thrilled that she wanted to do something for the nursery.

This one has the Bible verse at the bottom. James 1:17

Her crib.

The decals were great and pretty easy to put up. This is the one above her crib.

The canvas on the right I bought and it will go on the hospital door. After we leave the hospital, I will take it back and they will paint her information on it (weight, length, time, etc.). On the right is the memory board my mom made for her. These two are on the wall as you walk into the room on the right.
