Summer Fun

We have been quite busy the past couple of weeks. We are trying to enjoy our last little bit of summer break. Last week I took the kids to pop in and play time at Pump It Up. Wyatt had a blast and I practically had to drag him out! His favorite part was the huge slide! He was so brave and walked right up it and went down like a big boy. He probably went down it about 10 times!

This is the only picture I got of him in the obstacle course! He was too fast to catch!
The weekend of the 16th Lilly and I went to Memphis to visit our friends Chad, Julia, and Elisabeth. We had fun getting caught up and they had never met Lilly before. On Saturday, we went to a pool party my friend Blakeley's parents had. It was so much fun! It was a surprise to Blakeley that I was coming! It was a great surprise and an excellent chance to catch up!
Lilly had so much fun playing with Blakeley's mom and Jasper!

I start back to work on Monday, so summer is over for us! It went by way too fast! It is time to begin school again and it will be a busy time.

Lilly is 6 months!

The day we came back from the beach Lilly turned 6 months old! I can't believe time is flying by so fast! She is pure joy. I wanted to wait until we went for her 6 month check up to update. She is 18 pounds 8 ounces and 27 inches long. She is still in the 90th percentile. Dr. Edwards was very impressed with our little doodlebug. He was testing her strength by pulling her by her hands into a sitting position. Well, she went straight to standing. He looked at me and told me he wouldn't be surprised if she was walking when she comes when she comes back for her 9 month check up. On a sad note she did have shots and was not real thrilled. She ran fever the next day and was pretty pitiful. However, she is much better now. Tuesday was pretty rough on us. She was running fever and we were having a new roof put on our house. So it was pretty crazy around here.
This is Lilly at 6 months.
For fun this is Wyatt at 6 months.
I can't believe summer is going by so quickly. I am involved in the Title One planning committee at school and we report back on August 1 for those meetings. So I only have about 2 more full weeks of summer left. I'm going to try to keep both kids home with me the rest of the time, except maybe one day when I have an appointment to go to.
It is going to be a very busy school year. Not only will I have teaching and two kids and a husband; but I am also going to be teaching a Sunday school class starting in August. I will be teaching either 3 or 4 year olds. They haven't let me know yet because they wanted to be sure that Wyatt wouldn't be in my class if I teach 3 year olds. I felt the Lord's leading in this and am very excited to get more involved in the wonderful preschool ministry at our church!

Fun in the Sand!

We got back from the beach yesterday. It was a long drive especially with Lilly being so young. But we made it! We had so much fun and there were many times when we had to drag Wyatt inside. We stayed at a condo in Orange Beach with my mom, dad, and sister. The girls went shopping one day and Thomas and I got to go out on a date while we were there.
This is a picture of our little fish! He is doing really well with his swimming. And he loves it!
Lilly did not enjoy the water that much. But it was rather cold!
While we were there we actually got together with my dad's side of the family. We have not all been together in many years and it was so much fun! It was great to see everyone! This is all the cousins, spouses, great-grandchildren and Grandmother. The youngest great-grandchild was 1 month old!

This is a picture of Lilly and Mary Grayson playing. Mary Grayson is 5 weeks older than Lilly. She was not real thrilled with Lilly.
I can't say I blame her. It looks like Lilly was trying to choke her! Ha!
A picture of my little beach bum. She was not really a beach bum. I think we were on the beach a total of maybe an hour. She just didn't like the sand! Maybe when she's older she'll like it better.
Now this is one happy boy!
He enjoyed building sand castles.
